The spring/summer time always brings me back to the days when I used to have the summer off and spend my days baking and eating fun treats. Whenever my sisters and I would have sleepovers in the summer we would almost always make puppy chow. (We may have had another name for it, but that is our inside joke). There are so many different ways to make puppy chow- from tossing it in a paper bag to get covered in powdered sugar (which I do not recommend because that bag won't be able to be recycled after) To adding butter and extra ingredients that are not needed. This is such a simple and easy dessert that can be made anytime and anywhere.
I have been on a major almond butter kick lately- from putting it on my toast in the morning to enjoying all the fun new Trader Joe's snacks. I am honestly starting to think that almond butter is superior to peanut butter.... and that says a lot coming from the person who used to eat peanut butter bagels every morning for years growing up. Other ways I like to use almond butter is in smoothies or on smoothie bowls. I have tried baking with it before but it does not do well in heat. If you have other ideas of how to use almond butter, please let us know!!
Ingredients:
Rice Chex cereal (gluten free)
Almond butter without salt (I used the Trader Joe's version)
Dark Chocolate Chips (or chocolate bark as pictured below)
Vanilla extract
Powder Sugar
These ingredients are shown below! (missing powdered sugar)
