We cannot be the only household that views a sushi dinner as a special occasion that can only be seldomly enjoyed because it's SO EXPENSIVE! I am always looking for new, creative ways to bring my favorite food group into my house that is approachable and cost-effective! This recipe requires zero cooking, no culinary skills, and the ingredients can be easily found! I got the majority of the ingredients at Trader Joe's and it is perfect to throw together on a busy weeknight! You don't even have to cook the rice! Marinate before you leave for work or throw it together when you get home! This will for sure leave you fully satisfied!
Eating Raw Seafood
I know the thought of this may seem terrifying if you are preparing seafood raw at home and not in a sushi restaurant. I buy frozen Ahi Tuna on an almost weekly basis from the Trader Joe's Frozen aisle and eat it raw almost every time and have never gotten sick. Generally, fish is considered safe to consume raw if frozen for more than 7 days.
"It's always best to cook seafood thoroughly to minimize the risk of foodborne illness. However, if you choose to eat raw fish anyway, one rule of thumb is to eat fish that has been previously frozen. Some species of fish can contain parasites, and freezing will kill any parasites that may be present."

Furikake
This is a Japanese spice blend (also bought at Trader Joe's in the spice section) that contains: seaweed, white and black sesame seeds, salt, and kelp powder. I love using this in any Asian inspired dishes I make- it takes everything to the NEXT LEVEL by adding an extra layer of umami
