If you did not notice from my sushi stacks recipe sushi is basically one of my most favorite foods on the planet, and a Philadelphia Roll is the roll that I order EVERY time I get sushi. The layers of different textures is the cherry on top to the perfect bite of food. I think there's something especially special about only being able to access sushi if you go out to a restaurant or if you order for takeout. These little bites are the perfect way to bring sushi to your home-- or to a dinner party! They're the perfect bite and require ZERO chopstick abilities! It's a win-win! These lil puppies are only five ingredients, pescatarian, keto, and can easily be made dairy-free!
Do you know why the Philly roll is named "Philly"? You'd think it was because it was created in Philadelphia or something, nope. It is named that because of the cream cheese! They utilized Philadelphia Cream Cheese to create this roll! Who would have known? Don't worry though, the cream cheese can easily be swapped out for a dairy free alternative. I heard Trader Joe's has a good vegan option that does not contain any dairy! (is this blog turning into a Trader Joe's blog? oh well)
Ingredients:
Cucumber- I used one large English Cucumber but use what you have available- just make sure you'll have enough slices!
Cream Cheese- this is where you have some freedom. Do you want a full fat cream cheese (looking at you, keto), low fat, or a vegan alternative
Smoked Salmon
Avocado
Chives- you can have some creative freedom with this, I almost used the TJ's Furikake seasoning on top to add that extra sushi element
For serving (optional) make it your own!
Soy sauce
Spicy Mayo
Sriracha
Teriyaki
Ponzu
